Car Rental Rates Climb in Europe Given The Proximity of Easter and Royal Wedding

Car rental rates are climbing with several Brits wanting to make the most out of their four bank holidays in just 11 days. The proximity of Easter and the royal wedding is encouraging several to plan trips to the Spanish coast. Hence, online car rental rates comparator, Carrentals.co.uk, warns that bookings must be made well in advance to evade high car rental rates later.

Over the past three months, car rental rates in cities like Barcelona, Naples and Alicante have been steadily climbing. Presently, car rental rates for seven- day trips, over Easter, for an economy car at Faro Airport is 90% higher than a few weeks ago and 60% higher at Geneva.

The weekly car rental rates from 22 April 2011 are currently beginning at £21 per day in Majorca and Rome, £20 per day at Edinburgh Airport and £17 per day at Malaga Airport.
